I'm 2 Months Old Today!

Here I am at 2 months old! You can see how much I have grown since last month. I'm already wearing 3-6 months clothes. All of my beautiful dark hair is falling out, making way for blonde peach fuzz....I'll be a curly haired toe head before you know it.

I can't believe I am already 2 months old! What a big boy I am...literally! At my last check up I weighed in at 13 lbs, 12 oz and measured 24 1/4 inches long. Mommy still calls me her big boy and says I am built like a linebacker. But she also says not to get any ideas because she's not going to let her sweet boy play rough football....something less dangerous like soccer or even dancing!

I'm growing and changing every day. I smile, coo and laugh a lot now which makes mom and dad really happy! And I have been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now and that makes them even happier! But I'm still a little stinker and refuse to nap well during the day...hey, I can't be perfect ALL the time. I did sleep a lot when I got my shots last week. I was a brave boy but all I wanted for 2 days was to sleep on mom's shoulder. I think she secretly enjoyed the mommy and son time.

I watched my first Notre Dame game with my dad over Labor Day weekend. We had so much fun even though I slept for most of it. Then the next weekend we went and watched the ND / Michigan game with my best friend Grant and his dad Matt. Michigan won - boo! But we still had a good time.

I've had a lot of visitors from California too. Mom's friends, Auntie Julie and Auntie Patricia came for the weekend and held me the entire time - boy did they spoil me. They took me on my first trip to the city and I was such a good boy. Then my mimi and papa came last weekend. I LOVE them so much and I smiled for them all weekend. I already miss them and can't wait to see them again on October.

Mom and dad have been interviewing nannies because mom goes back to work next week. I am really going to miss her and I think she'll miss me too. But all the ladies we have met have been really nice. I'm sure they will pick someone very cool to hang out with me.

Here's some exciting news...I take my first plane ride this weekend to Chicago for Aunt Dani's wedding. I'm so excited to meet all my aunties and see Gigi and Papa again. Mommy and daddy are really nervous, but I promise to be a good boy ;)

One last thing...I have a new talent. Check out the video below. Mom and dad are so proud!

Well I guess that's all for now. Here are some new pics of me. And if you want to see my first photo shoot, follow the directions below. Until next time...

We finally got my name in up in my room...now everyone will know what to call me :)

It was a fun project until Mimi and papa decided to put me in my crib for a photo shoot. I was not having it! Here I am all cuddly and happy with my mimi. This was the beginning of their visit and she was so in love with me.

And here we are at the end of the weekend. I think she needed the wine after all of my fussing!

Papa and Gigi from Chicago sent me this Cleveland Indians outfit. But I am a tried and true White Sox fan just like my daddy.....so I don't look very happy here.

Having sweet dreams of an Irish Victory!

Baby Got Back! Just like mom!!

Watching the Notre Dame and Michigan game with my buddy Grant. Here we are with our grammy's!

The cutest smile ever! I finally let mom capture one on camera.

And the cutest pout ever! I really know how to work my mom and dad with this face.

Where has the time gone...

Here's Jack at 7 weeks. As you can see he's grown quite a bit and his eyes have turned a beautiful shade of blue. We can't seem to catch a smile on camera but we managed to capture this adorable smirk.

Ah, where do I begin? It's been 3 weeks since my last post and 7 weeks since Jack was born. I can't believe how fast the time has past....everyone warned me this would happen. And try as I might to avoid it, the days just seem to fly by and I wonder what I have accomplished. But as my dear friend Kate reminded me, "you've cared for a life all day." I try to remember that and just enjoy the moments with Jack and let the laundry wait for tomorrow.

And boy have there been so many great moments with our little guy. I could go one for 100 pages about all the awesome things Jack has done. I won't lie, the first few weeks were really tough, in fact, it's all a blur, so I don't remember much from that time. But once Jack hit week 5 he turned a corner. All of a sudden our fussy boo was sleeping through the night, smiling, cooing, making eye contact and spending more time chillin instead of crying. He's turning into an amazing baby and I am starting to really enjoy him. He steals a little piece of my heart every day and I wonder how I can possibly love him more. I am just so blessed to have him in my life.

Like I said, I could go on and on, but for the sake of precious time, I will just list some of the highlights of the past few weeks....
- Jack had his first professional photo shoot last week! He was changing, and GROWING, so fast so we wanted to capture him as a newborn before it was too late. I will post them as soon as the proofs come in.
- Our little guy is actually a very BIG BOY. At his one month check up he had gained 4 lbs and 1 inch since birth. So he's a whopping 12.5 lbs and 21.5 inches long. We have another appointment next week...I can only imagine what he weighs now. He's quite the linebacker!
- His random smiles have turned to huge grins and are now a daily occurrence when he sees mom and dad. It really makes my day to see him smile. And he gurgles and coos...I feel a full on giggle coming very soon!
- He's found his hands and LOVES to suck on his fingers. He also loves to play on his activity mat and chat with his friends, or sway in his swing and listen to music. Both options give mom a little break!
I guess that will do for now. I will try to blog more often but things are about to get even busier for us. Mimi and papa are visiting from California next weekend then we are taking Jack to Chicago for Aunt Dani's wedding the following weekend. Right after that I have to go back to work...and boot camp! As much as I am going to miss him, I think it will be good for me to get back to work and get our little family on a regular routine. Should be an exciting couple of weeks.

Until next time, here are a few new pics of the little monkey....
Our little rockstar! Aunt Dani bought this from a store in Chicago called Psycho Baby!
Sometimes we wonder what he stares at, but it's clearly exciting to him.
Jack LOVES bath time. In fact, he just loves to be naked. We caught a small smile here.
Jack's favorite activity - eating! We think he looks like Chris Farley here.
In my onesie from Aunt Mandi who lives in NYC! Mommy thinks I look like a model here.
Chunky little monkey! This is one of my favorite photos.
Jack's first trip downtown with mom and dad. We went to the Coca Cola Museum and Centennial Olympic Park with Aunties Julie and Patti who were in from California.
Mommy's peaceful little sleeper. When he's not swaddled, he has to sleep with his hands above his head. It's just too precious.

Ok mom, enough pictures already....
