Playing & Potty Training

With very little free time on my hands I've learned to get creative with my blog posts by combining them.  It usually works....but this one really has no rhyme or reason to it.  Just some funny pictures of Jack I wanted to share.  Enjoy!

Last weekend we went to a new indoor play center near our house called Catch Air.  I'm pretty sure it's Jack's new favorite place.  And when you have a very active, rambunctious child like Jack, you NEED places like this to let him get all that energy out.  So it's kinda my new favorite place too.  And I love watching him have a ball...

Last summer he was so afraid of bouncy houses.  What a difference a year makes!

Get outta my way!  Such a scary face for a 19 month old!

I call this one the germ factory, but Jack doesn't seem to care.

Jack's "Big" moment...

So,we're in the VERY early stages of potty training.  We thought we'd get started since they are introducing it in his classroom.  Our first task was to buy a seat (which by the way, he's almost too big for).  Jack picked it out and in case you can't tell, it's Elmo.  He'll sit on it before the bath and try really hard to go but nothing is happening yet.  But the minute we get in the tub he pees.  Go figure.  Here he is the day we bought it.

Um, guys, what the heck is this thing?

Oh, right, it's a bracelet!

Or maybe a toy to launch at daddy!

Oh, wait, I think I got it...

Whew, so glad I finally figured it out!

Power of the Beard? Bearded Glory?

This is the look I'll sport if I have a daughter and she brings a boy to the house.....

Is there a link to facial hair and baby making?  As some of you know Jilla and I have been on the quest for adding another LBD to the family...and since our last successful run at it where I sported the grizzly look produced that lil monster we all know and love....

Aaaah, happy ignorant couple...they had no idea what was growing inside that belly....

I figured why tempt fate and hence I ignored the razor from starting around Thanksgiving.....

Grandma Lucy thought I looked "sophisticated"- and she by no way is biased....

till around mid February whereby Jilla waved the white flag on me.....
Homeless chic, no, not in right now?

Well suffice to say we are now in God's hands, keep us in your prayers and by all means "think PINK!"
While we are not releasing any confirmations publicly....If you were to ask me is there another LBD on the way...I can only leave you with this....
                                                          Man...I miss my sweet beard......

Our little fish!

Jack had his first official swimming lessons on Saturday.  We're gearing up for our Easter Break in Palm Springs next month so we thought it was time to get him back in the pool.  We signed him up at the YMCA just up the street from our house.  As usual the kid had an absolute blast!  Whether or not he'll learn anything in the net month is yet to be seen, but it was so much fun to watch him.  Just like Gymboree, he really didn't want to do what the rest of the class was doing, he just wanted to play and splash around.  But he loves the water so I'm pretty confident he'll learn to swim at some point so we're not worried.   When I was little they just threw us in the pool and we figured it out.  Boy how times have changed!

I've been looking for new swim trunks for Jack but cannot find a cool pair.  Why are boys clothes so lame!?  I'm thinking I may need to get some in Cali.  But for now Jack is wearing his board shorts from last year.  They are a tad snug but for 4 weeks they will do the trick.  It was raining that day so Jack had to wear his ran boots. Gotta love his sense of style...

Jack was so excited but waited patiently to get in the pool.  I can't believe how much he's changed since last summer.  My baby is all such a big boy now...

First in the pool!  There were kids all around him literally losing their minds about going in the water.  But Jack was first in line and jumped right in...

Christian said the water was chilly but Jack doesn't seem to mind...

Notice all the other kids taking good direction, but Jack just wanted to play with his dad...

I LOVE this picture!  I mean, what a look of pure joy on his face.  He had so much fun and that always makes me such a happy mama...

Catch me daddy!!

Jack was so good that we rewarded him with a donut afterwards.  I think this will be our weekly tradition....

These are a few of Jack's favorite things...

February was a busy month for our little family but there's no way I can cram it all in one blog, so lucky for you, I won't try.  But I have to mention the the highlight of our frantic February was that Jack got to spend 5 days with my family while Christian and I had work in LA and Vegas.  It was strange to be in separate cities like that but Jack had a blast with his Mimi, Papa, Uncle Jess and Aunt Donna who all pitched in to watch him.  He also got to see his cousins Marseille and Amelie which is always great fun for him.  I'll have to post those pics another time.

While we were in Cali, Jack turned 19 months!  He continues to keep us on our toes and he makes us laugh every day.  It just amazes me how much he learns on a daily basis - his vocabulary is huge now and he can count to 10!  He actually just moved up to the Early Pre-School class at school.  He moved up a few months early so he could go with all of his buddies so he was a little shy at first but now he loves it.  I can't believe he's such a big boy!  But he's still very sweet and affectionate.

Right now Jack is really into "things."  He's very aware of what is his and loves getting new things.  Whenever we buy him something new, it's all we can do to pry it out f his hands by bedtime.  The other day he slept with a car in each hand.  So I thought I would share with you a few of Jack's favorite things....and people!

CARS and ROLLER BAGS....this one serves a dual purpose because Jack is slightly obsessed with cars and any other type of transportation...buses, big trucks, fire trucks, bicycle's and my personal fave, abadance (aka, ambulance).  Jack also loves our roller bags and pulls them all around the house.  So Mimi and Papa bought him this Cars roller bag at Target.  He LOVES this thing and insisted on rolling it through the airport on our way home...even though it added another 15 minutes to the trip.  Isn't it the cutest...

BOOTS...Auntie Jenny bought Jack a new pair of rain boots for Valentine's Day and he didn't take them off the entire trip even though they were a little big and made him fall!

Notice the boots and roller bag combo here.  We let Jack dress himself to take a walk in our hotel in West Hollywood. Gotta love his style!

MARSEILLE....my sister and I always talk about how complete we feel when we are all together, like everything is right in the world.  Jack absolutely adores spending time with his cousin Marseille...

....and I think the feeling is mutual!

DAVIS...Jack's best friend at school who he affectionately calls Dabis.  And Davis always calls him Jack Jack!  They have been BFF's since they were in the infant room together and their bond has grown over this past year.  The teachers have always gotten a kick out of them because the are inseparable...like Batman and Robin.  We had the first, of what I suspect will be many, play dates over the weekend and the kids had a blast!

I think Jack might have a small crush on Davis' big sister Lauren too. He even gave her one of his coveted Dum-Dum's!

DADDY...I would be remissed not to put Daddy on Jack's list of favorite things.   As hard as it is, I had to finally admit that Jack is and always will be Daddy's Boy!  But I totally get why Jack is so obsessed with his dad.....Christian is an amazing father and REALLY fun to be around.  He's just a big kid himself so he plays with Jack non-stop.  These two can have fun anywhere!

They spent 30 minutes playing in the water fountain at the Forum...

And here's what Jack looked like after 30 minutes!  I guess I should also mention that the kid loves WATER!
