Pumpkin Patch

We had a super fun Sunday at the Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch with our friends.  And we picked the perfect day to go - it was chilly and overcast so it felt just like fall.  The kiddos had a blast and we had just as much fun watching them enjoy the pumpkins, corn maze, haunted house and pony rides.  But the highlight of the day for all of us was watching Jack drive Ella in the mini John Deer tractor.  It was too cute for words!  We felt like we just witnessed their first date.   Here are some pictures of our autumn festivities...

Since it was cold out it was a lot easier to get the boys to wear their matching cable knit sweaters.  Don't they look adorable!

The best pic of the kids we could get...they weren't really feeling the photos that day...

The old married couple....see how he's already acting like he's not listening to her!

John Deer ride! The perfect pupils paying attention to the instructions...

At first they were all buiseness...

But then they really got into it...

Jack was such a good driver and Ella loved every minute of it!  Her little grin is priceless...

Officially OVER the adorable photo ops...

Ella loved the pony ride...she was such a pro!

Jack chickened out but we already paid for it so we threw Gavin on the pony.  He loved it!

The David Family Photo Shoot

The day after Gavin's birthday party we had a photo shoot to capture him at one year and also get some great family pictures.  It was beastly hot and the boys were not in the best of moods after a log weekend of celebrating.  Jack pouted and Gavin cried the entire time. I thought there was no way she would get any good shots.  But she's a pro and managed to take some really beautiful pictures of the boys.  I think they look like little angels!  Here's Gavin and one year and Jack at 3 years, 2 months...

Here is Gav at his one year photo shoot.  He looks like a little angel!
The rest of the photos are fantastic and I will post on another blog.

So it's time for Gavin's year in review blog.  I did the same for Jack when he turned one.  It's basically a summary of all the major milestones throughout his first year of life.  Probably not the most exciting blog to most people.  But I find it so fascinating how many changes a baby goes through in just one year.  Their little bodies are so amazing!  It's just one thing after another. So I like to have it all in one post so I can look back and see how the little peanut has developed this year.  Here's how he stacked up...

So there you have it - Gavin's first year in a nutshell.  Now all of his first year birthday blogs are officially over.  It has been a crazy year but I am so sad to see that it's gone.  I feel like we just brought him home from the hospital!  Having Gavin has been such a joy to all of us and an amazing addition to our family.  I love being his and Jack's mommy!  Sadly, Gav is no longer a little baby - he's a full-fledged toddler, running around with his older brother.  He's just a little ball of laughter and energy.  And as much fun as I am having with him at this age, I so miss cuddling him as a newborn baby.  Maybe I need to have another one - hehe!

Gavin's Southern BBQ Bash!

Since Gavin was almost born in Atlanta, we thought it would be fun to celebrate his first birthday with a Southern BBQ Bash!  Everything had a southern touch - there were red and brown rustic decorations, traditional BBQ food, drinks served out of mason jars, sweet tea, pecan pies, a cowboy boot pinata and a crazy ole lady who came to entertain the kiddos....really she was a bit off her rocker but the kids loved her!

Everyone had a great time celebrating Gavin!  And he seemed perfectly happy all day - he never cried once or had any meltdowns...except when I took the smash cake away at the end.  I swear he would have eaten the whole thing!  All the kids had a blast playing at the park, getting their face painted and whacking away at the pinata....when that thing broke open they were like vultures!

We're so thankful for everyone who came, especially Christian's family who traveled from the east coast!  It really was a great day.  I have to warn you - I took a TON of pictures.  I got a hold of my friend's camera and went a little overboard.  But all the pictures turned out so nice that I had to post a lot of them.  Enjoy...
