Is that you in there?

Here's mommy's belly at 19 weeks. Can you see the stain on my shirt - I seem to spill everything these days!! I knocked over a glass of water at lunch the other day becasue I don't realize how big my belly is :)

Here are your Boot Camp aunties at our Fondue Party! Claudine, Lauren, Veronica, Lynn, Shannon, me and Betsy. They are all going to get me back into shape after you are born!!

Mommy's Atlanta Urban Tribe - Rianna, Cristall, Kate, Sarah and Olivia. We were all there celebrating Kate's 30th Birthday. It was so much fun and there were a lot of baby's there!

Here's your Aunties Kate and Sarah hanging out with mom's prego belly!

Auntie Olivia enjoying some baby time with Rianna and Andy's baby Elena Grace. Isn't she adorable! But if you turn out to be a boy, you are out of luck...Grant already has dibs on her.

Daddy is getting some good baby time with Kate & Matt's baby Grant Matthew. I think Daddy's a natural!

Dear Baby D,

Hi baby! Mommy and daddy thought we would write you a little note because we have had such a fun month with you. It was definitely a month of firsts....your first business trip with mom, your first fondue party and your first Academy Awards! You also started letting mommy eat chocolate again which she is REALLY happy about! I have enjoyed eating Molten Chocolate Lava Cake, peanut M&M's and my favorite chocolate chip ice cream. Daddy is getting me some tonight to celebrate the Oscar's. Thanks baby!!

But the biggest and best "firsts" were your first big kicks that mommy could feel. What a joy!! It started about 2 weeks ago when I was 17 weeks along. At first they were just little taps that felt like bubbles popping. Then at about week 18 the feeling was so strong there was no denying it - it's like you wanted me to know you were in there and that you were happy. I remember sitting in my hotel room in Phoenix and it felt like you did a flip in my belly. I just grabbed my tummy and started to cry. I can't believe I am growing a life inside me. It's an amazing experience and I already love you so much.

Over the past few weeks the kicks have gotten harder which makes me so happy because I know you are getting strong and healthy. You kick the most after I eat which leads me to believe that you will be a foodie like mommy and daddy - oh boy! I can't wait for your daddy to feel you move so we can share the experience. He talks to you all the time because he wants you to know how much he loves you too!

We've just enjoyed this past month with you. Mommy feels great and we are all so happy. Since I have been feeling better we are getting out more and spending lots of time with our friends here in Atlanta - they all can't wait to meet you....especially your soon-to-be playmates Grant and Elena! They are going to show you the ropes. We are so lucky to have such great friends here - they are like family to us now.

We have a big couple of weeks coming up - a new ultra sound, Olivia and Jarrad's engagement party and a trip to California for your auntie Jenny's baby shower. So let's get lots of rest and plenty of good food so you continue to grow. Thanks for already being such a great baby. We love you more than life!

Love,
Mommy & Daddy

Growing, Showing & Shopping!

Here is Jilla's prego belly at 16 weeks! The maternity clothes are definitely being put to good use. Thank goodness for elastic belly bands!

Our future nursery! We decorated this upstairs guestroom in Salsa Red for our spicy sister Jenny, but now it's time to soften things up a bit for the baby. Jill can't wait to get rid of Christian's last bit of Ikea furniture in a upcoming yard sale.

Here's our collection of sweet little lambs that the nursery will be decorated after. We've also included my childhood stuffed lamb and the baby's first book - Peter Rabbit. The book was a Christmas gift from Glamma Kathy and Pappa Joey (we're still discussing that name with grandma Kathy!).

Growing...
Well, we are officially 16 weeks along and the pregnancy is progressing nicely! We saw Dr. Houston a few days ago for a routine check up and all is well with our little one. We got to hear the heartbeat - which, to us, is the sweetest sound in the world. I cry every time. The heartbeat was so strong and fast! And in true Baby D fashion, the baby kicked at the machine right when the doctor put it on my belly. We definitely have a very active baby on our hands! But we don't mind - it's just so reassuring that the baby is still going strong and growing like a weed.

Showing...
Speaking of growing...I have developed quite a little prego belly. Sometimes I love it and think it's so adorable but other times it scares me to look in the mirror. I can't believe I am actually going to get BIGGER!! Christian says I am the cutest thing ever but he has to say that so he won't be in the doghouse. I've started working out again now that I am feeling better which has been great. And Christian and I are starting back to Boot Camp next week so I can get my muscles back! But, this belly is going to grow - boot camp or not! I guess I just need to embrace it.

Shopping...
I'm sure nobody will be surprised to hear that the uber-organized David's have started their baby shopping! This weekend we ordered our nursery furniture and picked out bedding. It was so much fun and we can't wait until it all comes in so we can put the room together. Check out our baby furniture...it's the Newport Collection in Espresso.

Our nursery colors are cream, tan and a baby teal with little lamb accents. Our theme was centered around one little lamb blanket that I fell in love with over the holidays. Funny enough, my favorite childhood stuffed animal was a little lamb that I got when I was 4 years old. Being the pack rat that I am I saved it all these years. Christian dug it out for me and gave it a good wash - it's as good as new. Around the same time we received another lamb from my friend Kate's mom, so this theme was just meant to be.

I guess that's all we have to share for now. The past few weeks since our last posting have been so much fun. We've loved reading all of the funny names people came up with for the baby. Among our favorites....Yankee Doodle, Jack Obama, World's Cutest and Chandler Bing! We definitely have some creative friends and family. We have another ultra sound February 23 so check back for new and improved photos of Baby D! We can't wait to see the little sweet pea again!

Until next time...
