Here is Jilla's prego belly at 16 weeks! The maternity clothes are definitely being put to good use. Thank goodness for elastic belly bands!
Our future nursery! We decorated this upstairs guestroom in Salsa Red for our spicy sister Jenny, but now it's time to soften things up a bit for the baby. Jill can't wait to get rid of Christian's last bit of Ikea furniture in a upcoming yard sale.
Here's our collection of sweet little lambs that the nursery will be decorated after. We've also included my childhood stuffed lamb and the baby's first book - Peter Rabbit. The book was a Christmas gift from Glamma Kathy and Pappa Joey (we're still discussing that name with grandma Kathy!).
Growing...
Well, we are officially 16 weeks along and the pregnancy is progressing nicely! We saw Dr. Houston a few days ago for a routine check up and all is well with our little one. We got to hear the heartbeat - which, to us, is the sweetest sound in the world. I cry every time. The heartbeat was so strong and fast! And in true Baby D fashion, the baby kicked at the machine right when the doctor put it on my belly. We definitely have a very active baby on our hands! But we don't mind - it's just so reassuring that the baby is still going strong and growing like a weed.

Speaking of growing...I have developed quite a little prego belly. Sometimes I love it and think it's so adorable but other times it scares me to look in the mirror. I can't believe I am actually going to get BIGGER!! Christian says I am the cutest thing ever but he has to say that so he won't be in the doghouse. I've started working out again now that I am feeling better which has been great. And Christian and I are starting back to Boot Camp next week so I can get my muscles back! But, this belly is going to grow - boot camp or not! I guess I just need to embrace it.

Shopping...
I'm sure nobody will be surprised to hear that the uber-organized David's have started their baby shopping! This weekend we ordered our nursery furniture and picked out bedding. It was so much fun and we can't wait until it all comes in so we can put the room together. Check out our baby furniture...it's the Newport Collection in Espresso.

Our nursery colors are cream, tan and a baby teal with little lamb accents. Our theme was centered around one little lamb blanket that I fell in love with over the holidays. Funny enough, my favorite childhood stuffed animal was a little lamb that I got when I was 4 years old. Being the pack rat that I am I saved it all these years. Christian dug it out for me and gave it a good wash - it's as good as new. Around the same time we received another lamb from my friend Kate's mom, so this theme was just meant to be.
I guess that's all we have to share for now. The past few weeks since our last posting have been so much fun. We've loved reading all of the funny names people came up with for the baby. Among our favorites....Yankee Doodle, Jack Obama, World's Cutest and Chandler Bing! We definitely have some creative friends and family. We have another ultra sound February 23 so check back for new and improved photos of Baby D! We can't wait to see the little sweet pea again!
Until next time...
Hello my beautiful expecting friends! I love this blog. I am totally crying reading it right now. You know me! I am so happy for you two. You are amazing people and this baby is going to be so lucky to have you as parents. So blessed! I keep you in my prayers all the time, and I can not wait for the day to meet Baby D! God bless you 3!
ReplyDeleteOh, Chandler Bing inspired another name for me....Chnandler Bong! Or, if it is a girl, Princess Consuela Bananahammock! Yes!!
