I'm 6 Months Old....4 days ago!

Here I am at 6 months old! Mommy's excited because I have enough hair to comb into a "do."

Well folks, I am half way to 1 year old! What a fun 6 months it has been. I'm really enjoying life these days. I love to play, smile and laugh and I even let mom and dad capture it all on film. I roll all over the place and the rents know its time to baby proof the house because I'll be crawling very soon.

I have fun with all my new toys but really my favorite thing to do is hang out with mom and dad - we play, sing and mom does silly dances to make me laugh. And Dad and I like to "rough house" as he calls it. So I show them my affection now with lots of slobbery open mouth kisses! They love it!

Mom and dad both left me for the first time last weekend when they went to Cancun for Uncle Jess & Aunt Donna's wedding. I know they missed me because they called 4 times a day and we skyped every day. I missed them too but I had a great time with my Gigi who came in from Chicago to stay with me. She is so sweet and loves me a lot. I hope I didn't tire her out too much. I can't wait to see her again very soon!

Ok, I have to go to bed now...I have my 6 month check up tomorrow and I am getting shots! Mom has to do it all alone because dad is in Vegas for work. I'm sure she will cry more than I do. Mom and dad guess I am at least 20 pounds now seeing as I wear 12-18 month clothing! I'll post my new stats after the appointment. I wonder if I am still off the charts?

Thanks for watching me grow these past 6 months! Until next time...

Mommy makes me pose for all of these photo shoots...

...but all I want to do is eat the book.

Sunday was a rough day for Mommy because her beloved Chargers broke her heart AGAIN in the post season. She yelled at the TV a lot that night. But we still support the Team, as demonstrated by my Chargers track suit from Mimi and Papa.

My new favorite thing to do is bite mommy and daddy on the nose and chin. But now that I have a tooth I think it hurts them a little.

I got so many new toys for Christmas but I LOVE playing with this $3 toothbrush!

I'm a big boy and now fit into my front facing jogging stroller. I love taking walks with mom.... well, actually, mommy walks and I nap.

Gigi took care of me while mommy and daddy were in Cancun! We had so much fun taking walks, playing peek-a-boo and enjoying the gorgeous Atlanta weather. We definitely bonded and I miss her already.

Here is mommy and her family at Uncle Jess & Aunt Donna's wedding in Cancun. They said it was a gorgeous wedding. I hope they take me to the beach the next time they go!

The Sandoval's! We all love our new Aunt Donna and hope she and Uncle Jess make me lots of new cousins!!

Teeth, Travel & Tickles!

Jack's First Tooth!! Ok, so this isn't the best picture in the world but if you look closely you can see his lower left front tooth. It was impossible to get a good picture because all Jack wanted to do it eat my thumb.

As you may have guessed by the title that Jack has his first tooth in! The tooth has been teasing us for a while and just seemed to pop up yesterday. Now we have to be more careful about keeping our fingers near his mouth because that sucker really hurts when he bites. But it's just so adorable. It's funny how a single tooth can create such an excitement in the house. But with every milestone we feel our buddy turning into his own little person and we know that each new experience leads to the next....that one little tooth will help him chew the cheerios he will get to eat soon and one day he'll put that tooth under his pillow for the tooth fairy. I just find it all so precious. And I know it's just his body's natural progression, but I am still so proud of my kid!

I had my first business trip since having Jack. I had to fly to be in Dallas from Sunday to Tuesday and I was really dreading it. But I have to say it wasn't as bad as I thought. I had images of Jack crying as I left the house and then me driving to the airport, barely able to see through all the tears. Not so much. When I left he was eating and could hardly pull himself away from the bottle for two seconds to give me a hug. And I left him in the most loving hands of his daddy so there was no need to worry. The trip went great and I actually had that feeling that I was back to my old self again - it felt good. But by Tuesday morning I was DYING to get home. Jack didn't even notice I was gone but I was so happy to get my hands on him and give him a squeeze. We're headed to Cancun this weekend so we are leaving Jack with Gigi. Now that I have one trip under my belt I feel like I can handle this one. We'll miss him terribly, but I know Gigi will take great care of him.

You know, it's so true what they say....your child's laugh is the best sound in the world. I just can't get enough of it. Jack has this deep, infectious little belly laugh and once we get him going it just gets better. So I thought I'd send you off with a video of mommy making baby Jack crack up. I love how he goes from Captain Serious to laughing then right back to Captain Serious. He's a funny kid. We like to call this one Tickle Monster...

I love that when he's done, he's really done!

Snow Day 2010!

Here's our little snow bear in his adorable fleece suit. You wouldn't know by looking at him, but he really is having a good time.

We enjoyed our first (and probably last) snowfall of the season. It's hilarious how the media turns a few flurries into the "Ice Event of 2010." Everything gets shut down...I went shopping at an outdoor shopping center near my house tonight and all the stores closed early due to the weather. It's too much.

In any case, we always enjoy it, especially this Cali girl who grew up wearing shorts on Christmas Day. I truly hate the cold but I love ONE beautiful snowfall each year. Plus, it was baby Jack's first feeling of snow on his cute little face...unless you count last March when he was in my belly.

He actually LOVES being outside in the cold. We stayed out there for about 15 minutes and he didn't cry a bit. I'm scared he's turning into a cold weather baby. Enjoy a few pics of our fun in the "snow."

Jack's First Christmas!

Jack's First Christmas! He was our special gift from God this year. We are so blessed to be his parents.

We changed things up a bit this year and decided not to travel for Christmas. We were are little sad and apprehensive about being alone for the holiday but it turned out to be wonderful. Of course we missed seeing family, but it was so nice not to hassle with airports, traffic and bah-hum-bug travelers!

Even though Jack didn't understand what was going on, he was so precious all week. Maybe it was the new organic peas or the wrapping paper he could eat. But I like to think it was the fact that mommy and daddy were home with him for 2 weeks. It was awesome family time!

I originally thought we would celebrate at home, just the three of us, but it turns out people love to adopt the strays around the holidays. We kicked off the festivities with a lovely Christmas Eve dinner at my boss Mary Lynne's house. It was a hodge podge of family, friends, neighbors, great food and lots of good wine, which made for a fun night! Jack showed his appreciation by peeing on Mary Lynn's duvet cover. That's our boy!

We woke up on a chilly Christmas morning, opened gifts and then made a big ole breakfast. It was nice to wake up in our own bed and spend a quiet morning with our little man. Then we got it together and headed to my friend Sarah's parents house for a bit. We brought over Peach Bellini's and enjoyed a cocktail hour with them. Finally, we finished the night with an Italian dinner at my other boss, Lisa's house. We played games and Christian helped put together a bike for her 7 year old daughter Sophie. He's a sucker for little girls.

We capped off the holiday with a visit from Gigi and Papa who made the trip from Chicago. They stayed for four days and bonded with Jack. Gigi had fun playing with Jack and feeding him his sweet potatoes, which Papa then taught him to spit out. Thanks a lot Don! But he did put together Jack's new jumparoo so we can't be too mad at him. It was so great that they were able to come and spend quality time with Jack. We were sad to see them go but Gigi will be back in a few days to watch Jack while we are in Cancun for Jess & Donna's wedding.

So overall it was a memorable and fun Christmas. But by far the best part was just having Jack with us. We feel like we are starting life all over and now we get to see the world through his eyes. It's an amazing feeling to have all of these new experiences with him.

Whew! That was a mouthful! Sorry for the epic post. I guess that what happens when I only post every two weeks. I promise to get better in the new year...famous last words. Enjoy a few pictures from Jack's first Christmas....

Christmas Morning! Jack woke up a little grumpy - how appropriate are those PJ's! And I'm loving the drool on the sheet - he takes after his mommy.

After he woke up a bit, we changed him into these adorable jammies, courtesy of his Aunt Patricia.

Santa definitely stopped at the David house!

Jack met his first dog on Christmas Day. This is Sarah's awesome dog Timber.

We forced Jack into his Indians Jersey just for Papa's sake. But it was worth it because we got this priceless picture!

Jack in his new jumparoo. He didn't love it at first but it's growing on him. He would rather eat the green cords than jump.
