Gavin's first trip to the beach!

Last weekend Gigi was in town so we decided to take the boys to the beach.  It was Gav's first trip to the Pacific so we took him to Laguna Beach where Jack also first dipped his toes in the water.  It was so nice to get out of the house for the day and just relax.  Gavin was awesome and slept for most of the day and Jack had a blast just playing and running around with his dad. It really was a perfect day. 

The weather here in Orange County has been splendid (sorry to all my friends on the East Coast who are already experiencing winter).  So, it was about 75 at the beach but there was a heavy fog and marine layer over the coast so it looked very eerie.  You will see it in the pictures.  But it didn't bother us one bit.  I'm just so happy to be living near the coast again!!

Everyone always asks how close we are to the beach. So we timed it.  From our door to downtown Laguna Beach was 17 minutes.  Come visit and we'll take you there! Gavin stayed snuggled in my arms or his car seat most of the day.  We decided not to torture him and dip his toes in the cold water like we did to Jack when he was 3 months old.  We have plenty of time for that...

After lunch, my little blonde beach boy made a mad dash for the water...

But he soon realized the water comes up and gets you, so he quickly jumped in daddy's arms and opted to look at it instead...

Safe in daddy's arms...

I see many sandy days in our future...

Pure joy at the playground...

Playing at the beach is hard work...
