The biggest news is that Gav is officially a sitter-upper! A few weeks ago he just started sitting up and never looked back. Now he's even getting up on all fours and attempting to crawl. But the poor thing can only go backwards. It's so sad - he attempts to crawl to a toy and ends up farther from it. And he just looks at me like, Mom, help me! But he's a smart kid so I know he'll figure it out soon.
Gavin has also mastered the art of feeding himself. His current finger food diet consists of puffs, yogurt melts, diced fruit, diced soft cheese and his all-time-favorite...macaroni and cheese. And he can eat all of this because he now has 6 teeth with 2 more on the way! I think he loves the taste of real food so much that now he's not so into his baby food. So I guess it's time to bring on the big-boy food for the little guy. Well, I shouldn't say little as he is quite the porker. He's gotten very chubby and is currently 21 lbs and 29 inches, putting him in the 75th-90th percentile. He's well into 12-18 month clothing and in about a month he'll probably outgrow the carrier and need to go in the real car seat!
Gav looks so much like Christian now. His face has filled out and he's starting to get tons of blond curls. It's adorable! And much to my dismay, he's starting to show signs of becoming a daddy's boy. But he's still very much attached to me so I am hopeful that he won't completely abandon me like Jack did. And he's still in throws of separation anxiety which makes leaving him with anyone very difficult. I hope that me being gone for work this week isn't too hard on him. He's such a sensitive little dude, but mama's got to work. Here are a few photos of him as he starts his 8th month of life...
He loves to eat the props...
Gavin started to get fussy so Jack jumped in with his fart machine to make him laugh. (Yes, we now have a fart machine in the house, courtesy of my 3rd child, Christian). Gavin was not amused. I'm with ya Gav...
Look at our big boy sitting up!
I am so excited that I get to play with Jack's toys now that I can sit up...
Ready for my first trip to the neighborhood pool! Getting a lift from Papa...
At first he didn't know what to think...
But it didn't take long for him to love it! Unfortunately Jack and daddy weren't there to enjoy the pool day with us. Jack had to go to the ER because he got bit by a black widow. Thankfully he was ok! Another blog for another day...
Gav and mommy soaking up the rays! Mommy sure needs a tan on those white legs...
Drying off with grammy Delora! My kids are so lucky to have so many wonderful people to love them...
More fun with Jack's old toys! This is Gavin's favorite...
Oops, I fell! Guess I'll just laugh it off...
