HE'S POTTY TRAINED!! I had to put this one in caps because it's a huge accomplishment for him. I'd say he was officially trained in May, with a few accidents here and there but that's to be expected. He absolutely loves wearing big-boy underwear and I love the fact that I no longer have to change his pull up...or buy any more for that matter! I have to give props to his pre-school teachers for helping with this process - they are saints! I don't have any pictures of this for obvious reasons.
Speaking of school.....Jack is officially in pre-school now. He moved up last week into a real pre-school classroom. So no more young toddler, toddler, twaddler and preppers - now he's a big kid. He has lots of friends in class and even invited then to his upcoming birthday party! Here he is on the first day of pre-school...
He's Swim Safe! Jack took 6-weeks of swimming lessons in April and May. Ok, maybe I'm a little biased, but I thought he kicked-butt! He was so happy and confident in the water - he loved it! His teacher Kristen was amazing and her goal was to get him to jump in the water, turn over, float, then swim to the edge - and he did it! Now we're in the pool every week practicing. He's fearless in the water....so I still make him wear a vest. Sadly, I lost all my pics of him at swim lessons so this pic from our pool will have to do....
Jack is still HUGE! He's currently 45 lbs and 41 inches which are both 95-100 percentile. And he wears a size 12 shoe - if you don't have kids yet, that's REALLY big - it's what most 7-8 year olds wear! He's starting to outgrow 5T and entering Boys sizes. Crazy!! But he's not fat at all - he's just so solid. You should see him in class - he's at least a head taller than most of the other kids. It's hilarious.
He was in in first wedding! He was the ring bearer in his Aunt Mandi and Uncle Mike's Wedding in New York last month. He was ADORABLE in his tux and he did such a great job walking....er, running down the aisle. Check him out in his tux and then his big moment with his cousin Sophia...
But as any parent knows you have to take the good with the bad so I must admit that our first born has been prone to tantrums the past few weeks. The poor little guy has gone through a lot of changes recently, most specifically Christian and I working and traveling a lot. I think he misses his old routine and familiar schedule. So we're trying to work less and be patient with him but, man, it can be exhausting and frustrating. I really hope this isn't an indication of how his threes will be because I hear they are worse than two!
But despite the tantrums, Jack is a really sweet boy. He loves hugs and kisses. He loves spending alone time with me and Chris. But he also really loves being with his little bro Gavin - they play really well together now. Yes, he may get jealous and not want to share but I also see him being very protective of Gav. His little family unit is very important to him and I hope he always feels that way about us. Here's the most recent picture of Jack and his family...
