Father's Day!

We spent Father's Day exactly how the hubs wanted it...sleeping in (him, not me), a big ole homemade breakfast, an awesome church service, watching the US Open on the couch, a steak dinner with Mimi and Papa on the patio, playing outside with the kids until dusk and then early to bed.  Ok, either he's getting old or that's just a typical dad's day!  Either way, it's what Christian wanted and he was happy as a clam all day so I'll take it!  He more than deserves a relaxing day off from the stresses of life.  I only wish we could do it more often.

When it comes to being a dad, Christian is one of the great ones.  He's the true definition of a modern dad.  He does it all....nothing is off limits.  He's been like that since the day Jack was born and I love him so much for it. I think our children will really benefit from having both of us 100 percent invested in every aspect of their lives instead of a mom who does this and a dad who does that.  I can see Christian not only lacing up the boys' cleats, but also tying ribbons in Dylan's hair.  I just left him with the kids for an entire week and I had no worries at all.  He's so in tuned with them and their needs that I knew he would be ok and he did fantastic!

He is an amazing father and always has been.  My children are so blessed to call him their dad.  He's so loving, nurturing, smart, protective, funny, silly and spontaneous. He just makes life so much better.   But more than anything he is committed to me and to our children.  I know he will always be there for us, no matter what.  He loves us all so deeply and that's all that really matters to me in the end. I definitely chose the absolute right partner to take this journey with.  Me and my kids are very blessed!

Our children adore their dad!  He is truly the light of their little lives.  The way that they look at him is priceless.  And the connection he has with them makes me love him even more.  He's a good man and he is raising good kids who will follow in his footsteps.  We don't need a day every year to remind us how luck we are.  We get to live it every day!  Here are some great picture I have taken of Christian with the kids over the last few months...

Father's Day service at Saddleback church!  We love to start our week with a great morning of worship.  It really bonds us as a family!

The boys made ties for their dad at church and he was honored to wear them!

Because Jack wasn't smiling in the other picture he just had to take another one...

My handsome boys at the top of the hill...

Christian is ALWAYS doing silly things with the kids...

Daddy's girl in every way possible...

When the Blackhawks were in the playoffs, Christian was showing Jack the ropes.  Jack was so cute and copied everything his daddy did.  Jack idolizes his dad...

Future Blackhawk fan in the making...

Blackhawks WIN!  Crazy daddy...

I love this picture!  I love seeing Christian playing with the kids.  It's a simple thing but it makes me so happy to see my hubs with my three little chickens just living life.

Christian is such a hands-on dad.  He's always outside with the kids, tinkering with their bikes and toys.  He recently taught Jack how to ride a bike with no training wheels.  Talk about a proud dad moment!

He always tries to make Gav feel special too...

So you can't see it, but Dylan is looking at her daddy in this picture.  Can you tell how much she adores him?!

Jack's friends love Christian because he's always the first one in the pool and the first one to wrestle with them.  Sometimes I think Christian is the one who likes it because he gets to act like a big kid himself...

Big fish and little fish. I can never get these two out of the water...

I think fatherhood looks really good on Christian.  I actually think he has gotten better with age.  Just seeing him hold my kids makes me love him more...

I mean, how many dads look this good at 42?!

Happy Father's Day Babe!  We love you!
