Fun with Mimi & Papa! Our big night out in the city....we were home by 8pm!! Boy how Mom & Joey's visits have changed. Mom and Joey came to visit for five days last week! I can honestly say it was one of the best visits we have ever had. They got to spend some really priceless quality time with Jack. They also got to see him change right before their eyes, as well as take his 7 month photos. I was so happy to see our little boy being loved by family - it's something we miss out on because we love so far away. But we made the most of our time - We laughed a lot and ate great food all weekend. Then after Jack went to bed we stayed up late watching the Olympics - it really was a wonderful time. We all miss them so much already.
Jack was in rare form. We think he was saving up all of his tricks for them because in the few days that they were here, he accomplished so many milestones! The biggest one was that he officially started sitting up on his own for long periods of time. The day they got here, he could only sit for a few seconds at a time. By the time they left, he could sit up for 10 minutes at a time! It was so cool.
He also made his first steps towards crawling. He can get up on all fours, lunge forward and then army crawl across the floor. Now he can go from laying down to sitting up and then crawling. It's pretty amazing - I'll post a video of it in the next post.
And the best is that he started calling me mama. He had babbled it before but I knew it didn't mean much. But now when I leave the room or when he's upset, he calls out "mama!" I just love hearing it. I was positive he would say dada first since Christian is his favorite person in the whole world. But I guess a kid just needs his mama now and then!
It was so great to have Mimi & Papa here. We can't wait for more family time coming up - my sister and her family are coming in a few weeks, then we have Easter in Chicago, followed by a trip to San Diego for Marseille's birthday. Family really warms the soul!
Since Jack is sitting up he no longer needs his car seat to ride in the stroller. I thought he'd be happier about that! We did get him a new car seat over the weekend so he'll finally be a little more comfortable in the car.

On Sunday we went to Piedmont Park to enjoy the 68 degree weather - it was such a nice change from the cold we've been having. The park was packed! We met the Day's and the Pearch's there and had a great afternoon.
