Play date!

Jack and Elena on their play date! This is the best picture I could get. At least Elena is smiling on cue. Jack wore his July 4th Tee-shirt early to show his support for the USA Soccer Team.

Jack had his first real play date over the weekend. He's been around other kids a lot but he never really "played" with them. He's always so happy to see his cousin Marseille, but after a few minutes of adoring each other, he basically moves on and ignores her, despite her attempts to chase him around the house :) He's also played with his buddy Grant but he was so little that Grant just ran circles around him. But, since hearing he's been playing so well with the kids at school (aside from the constant biting), I thought it was time to set something up.

So we arranged a play date with precious little Elena Day...daughter of our friends Rianna and Andy. She's 19 months old and couldn't be cuter! She's a very sweet and lovable little girl. They were kind enough to let us crash their pad on Saturday afternoon to watch the World Cup and let the kiddos play. Elena was so nice and shared all her toys with Jack. I wouldn't say they exactly played together, but they played well along side each other....not too much toy grabbing or crying, although Jack did pull her hair. There was a lot more smiling and laughing so all in all it was a fun afternoon! As always, it's hard to get good shots of the kids, but here are a few funny ones....

Jack and Elena both wanted to sit in her pretty pink chair. This is probably what they each wanted the most that day. So as much as Rianna and I tried to get a cute picture of them sitting and smiling together, it never happened. I think we're going to have to get Jack his own chair!

Caught red handed - apparently Jack not only bites, but he pulls hair as well. If he keeps this up, none of his friends are going to want to play with him. Does he look guilty or what?! She was such a trooper and didn't even cry.


It appears they are playing nicely and sharing the golf clubs....


But then there was a little scuffle over them....


I guess Jack won out. Way to go Jack, you beat a girl!
